Making wooden joinery with handtools for all levels - 1 day introduction or 3 day course

Using hand tools, we will make wooden joints. We connect different pieces of wood without using glue or screws. This method is inspired by centuries-old Japanese and European wood joining techniques.

The workshop consists of one, or three Saturdays, and we will work on one object per day. Step by step, we will go through the entire creation process: design, elaboration (marking, sawing straight with a pull saw, chopping and cutting with a chisel and hammer) and finishing in the form of breaking edges, sanding and varnishing, oiling, staining or burning (if there is time).

The objects will be large enough to hold in one hand and will take on all kinds of shapes. The finished joineries make a beautiful object for in your home or to gift to someone you care for.

The workshops are accessible for people of all levels - from complete beginners to professional craftspeople.
